TYA Summer Musical Theater program is designed to encourage the development of theatre performance skills including solo & ensemble acting, singing and movement. This program is an incredible opportunity for students to hone their skills among peers with the same passion for the performing arts. Join us for this exciting program that culminates in live performances!


THE LIGHTNING THIEF PROGRAM INFORMATION
As the half-blood son of a Greek god, Percy Jackson has newly-discovered powers he can’t control, a destiny he doesn’t want, and a mythology textbook’s worth of monsters on his trail. When Zeus’s master lightning bolt is stolen and Percy becomes the prime suspect, he has to ?nd and return the bolt to prove his innocence and prevent a war between the gods. But to succeed on his quest, Percy will have to do more than catch the thief. He must travel to the Underworld and back; solve the riddle of the Oracle, which warns him of betrayal by a friend; and come to terms with the father who abandoned him. Adapted from the best-selling book The Lightning Thief by Rick Riordan and featuring a thrilling original rock score, The Lightning Thief: The Percy Jackson Musical is an action-packed mythical adventure “worthy of the gods.” (Time Out New York)

Rehearsals begin June 17, 2023
Rehearsals are Mon - Fri from 6PM - 10PM
Additional dates will be added for Tech and Dress rehearsal, and a possible weekend rehearsals or activity.  Schedules will be provided when the program begins. 


Performances Dates:
Free Senior Citizen performance on Weds 7/30 at 7PM
Evening performances July 31 - Aug 2 at 7:30PM
Matinee on Sun 8/3 at 2PM


Participation fees:
Residents $250
Non-residents $300
Crew $50
20% discount for siblings
Cast participants will also be required to sell $100 in advertising or in donations to TYA
 
Participants need to sign up for a vocal and dance audition.
Everyone who auditions for the show will be cast in the show.
