TYA Summer Musical Theater program is designed to encourage the development of theatre performance skills including solo & ensemble acting, singing and movement. This program is an incredible opportunity for students to hone their skills among peers with the same passion for the performing arts. Join us for this exciting program that culminates in live performances!THE LIGHTNING THIEF PROGRAM INFORMATIONAs the half-blood son of a Greek god, Percy Jackson has newly-discovered powers he can’t control, a destiny he doesn’t want, and a mythology textbook’s worth of monsters on his trail. When Zeus’s master lightning bolt is stolen and Percy becomes the prime suspect, he has to ?nd and return the bolt to prove his innocence and prevent a war between the gods. But to succeed on his quest, Percy will have to do more than catch the thief. He must travel to the Underworld and back; solve the riddle of the Oracle, which warns him of betrayal by a friend; and come to terms with the father who abandoned him. TYA JR. is designed to encourage the development of theatre performance skills, including solo & ensemble acting, singing, and movement.  This program provides the opportunity for students to hone their skills among peers with the same passion for the performing arts. Director: Maurya Brown, a Trumbull resident, will be returning to TYA Junior this summer to direct this exciting musical theater camp that culminates in live performances on August 8th & 9th.Disney's The Lion King has captivated the imagination of audiences around the world! The African Savanna comes to life with Simba, Rafiki, and an unforgettable cast of characters as they journey from Pride Rock to the jungle and back. Rehearsals begin July 7, 2025Rehearsals are Mon. - Fri.,  from 1PM - 5PM Trumbull High School Auditorium 72 Strobel Rd., Trumbull, CT 06611. Location subject to change. When Zeus’s master lightning bolt is stolen and Percy becomes the prime suspect, he has to ?nd and return the bolt to prove his innocence and prevent a war between the gods. But to succeed on his quest, Percy will have to do more than catch the thief. He must travel to the Underworld and back; solve the riddle of the Oracle, which warns him of betrayal by a friend; and come to terms with the father who abandoned him.
