Learn-to-Skateboard - Summer Camp S1 This is a total beginner-friendly learn-to-skateboard program designed for first-time skaters. During this summer course, students will learn the fundamentals - from pushing and riding safely to beginner tricks and drop-ins. Trumbull Parks and Rec Summer Sports Leagues - Summer Flag Football League Summer Sports Leagues are run by Trumbull Parks and Recreation staff members. Both male and female athletes will participate in drills and game situations daily. Depending on how many players register, teams may be assigned based on age/ability. Multiple Child Discounts are available. These leagues are primarily held outdoors and will have limited access to indoor spaces. Because of this, we will cancel if there is steady rain. Parents will be notified ONLY IN THE CASE OF CANCELLATION via email. Notice will also be posted to our Facebook page and on our MyRec site.

Adaptive Karate - Summer Adaptive Karate This program is designed to introduce students with special needs to Martial Arts, and is tailored to accommodate a range of special needs issues and developmental challenges. Students will learn balance, control, coordination, vocabulary, as well as basic Karate moves and principles, while developing self-respect and confidence. Students age 10 and up, and their family members, are invited! Classes are held at Indian Ledge Park, Trumbull, CT

Summer Playground Camp - Middlebrook Playground Camp-S2 PLAYGROUND CAMPOur playground camps offer children outdoor experiences and physical activity with peers under the supervision of trained counselors. A variety of structured activities and free play will be offered each day. Activities include games, arts & crafts, sports, group games and challenges. Special guests on select days! The playground camp will allow campers to be creative, explore, and have fun while making new friends. Wednesdays are trip days! All Playground Campers who attend will get to participate in the weekly trip. Detailed itineraries will be emailed that include the anticipated bus departures/arrivals and packing list. As many amusement parks have gone cashless it is suggested that each camper have a prepaid card if they will be purchasing snacks/souvenirs.
Middlebrook Camp will take place at Indian Ledge Park on Tuesdays and Tashua Knolls Pool on Thursdays. Please note, pick up and drop off will be at the parks on Tuesday and Thursday.
JUNIOR CAMPJunior Camp offers children ages 4 to 6 the opportunity for a summer camp experience at Trumbull Early Childhood Education Center (TECEC). Campers will have the opportunity for free play, arts & crafts, group games, tag, water day, and special themed days. Each Tuesday the Junior Campers will get to enjoy an air conditioned private kids concert! Each Friday, Junior Camp meets at Beach Memorial Park Sprinkler Park. Pick up and drop off are at this location.
ALL CAMP SITES WILL MEET RAIN OR SHINEDesignated classroom/gymnasium space at each school! In case of inclement weather, Park/Pool days may be held at the camp site rather then the Park- staff will notify families the morning of if this happens. **Parents should provide a snack, lunch and refillable water bottle for their child for all camps**

Learn-to-Skateboard - Summer Camp S1 This is a total beginner-friendly learn-to-skateboard program designed for first-time skaters. TCT Dance Workshops - ADULT BEGINNER TAP S3 TCT Adult Dance Classes Dance classes for adults 18 and up. Whether you’re a seasoned mover or just looking for a fun way to try something new, these classes are all about learning, laughing, and dancing together. DANCE FOR MUSICAL THEATRE Open-level dance class for musical theatre lovers and creative movers. Each class will include a warm-up, dance-skills development, musical theatre combination, and improvisation exercise. This workshop offers the opportunity to engage in physical activity combined with artistic exercises. INSTRUCTORS: Jennifer Ellyson and Katrina Perkins No experience is required.Shoes: jazz or dance shoes preferred, sneakers ok.ADULT BEGINNER TAP DANCEReady to dust off your tap shoes and get back into rhythm? This class is perfect for adults who know the basics and want to keep growing in a fun, low-pressure environment. We’ll build on foundational steps like shuffles, flaps, ball changes, etc., while exploring musicality, coordination, and style. Each class includes a rhythmic warm-up, skill-building, and upbeat combinations set to a mix of modern music, classics, and Broadway favorites. Come make some noise, move your body, and enjoy the groove!Tap shoes required.INSTRUCTOR: Jennifer EllysonINSTRUCTORS: Jennifer Ellyson, MA, R-DMT, LPCA, received her B.S. in Dance and Psychology from SUNY Brockport in 2001. She then studied Dance/Movement Therapy and Counseling at Columbia College Chicago, where she earned her M.A. in 2009. In addition to her training in various genres of dance, she is skilled in creative movement, improvisation, composition, dance conditioning, and Laban Movement Analysis. A passionate dance educator for 28 years, Jennifer has taught in a variety of settings, including studios, schools, fitness centers, and social service organizations. She has also held teaching leadership roles at the university level. She has staged and directed many dance/music/theatrical performances throughout her career and enjoys creating community through the arts! Katrina Perkins combines over 25 years in education and her life-long love for dance to implement meaningful creative experiences for students. Her choreography credits include productions of Grease and West Side Story, as well as original choreography for show choirs, dance teams and schools, and college productions. She has taught dance to students aged 3 to 70 and appeared in several works as a performer in New York.
