Adaptive Basketball - 2026 Adaptive Basketball This program is designed to introduce players with special needs to Basketball. It is tailored to accommodate a range of special needs issues and developmental challenges. Participants ages 6-21 will learn basic Basketball skills, drills, and vocabulary while developing balance, control, and coordination. Each participant must be accompanied by an adult companion, preferably someone part of the child's household.

TCT Dance Workshops - ADULT BEGINNER TAP Open-level dance class for musical theatre lovers and creative movers. Ten sessions will focus on jazz and contemporary styles of dance within different musical themes and time periods. Each class will include a warm-up, dance-skills development, musical theatre combination, and improvisation exercise. This workshop offers the opportunity to engage in physical activity combined with artistic exercises. No experience is required.Shoes: jazz or dance shoes preferred, sneakers ok.INSTRUCTORS: Jennifer Ellyson, MA, R-DMT, LPCA, received her B.S. in Dance and Psychology from SUNY Brockport in 2001. She then studied Dance/Movement Therapy and Counseling at Columbia College Chicago, where she earned her M.A. in 2009. In addition to her training in various genres of dance, she is skilled in creative movement, improvisation, composition, dance conditioning, and Laban Movement Analysis. A passionate dance educator for 28 years, Jennifer has taught in a variety of settings, including studios, schools, fitness centers, and social service organizations. She has also held teaching leadership roles at the university level. She has staged and directed many dance/music/theatrical performances throughout her career and enjoys creating community through the arts! Katrina Perkins combines over 25 years in education and her life-long love for dance to implement meaningful creative experiences for students. Her choreography credits include productions of Grease and West Side Story, as well as original choreography for show choirs, dance teams and schools, and college productions. She has taught dance to students aged 3 to 70 and appeared in several works as a performer in New York.

Ten sessions will focus on jazz and contemporary styles of dance within different musical themes and time periods. Each class will include a warm-up, dance-skills development, musical theatre combination, and improvisation exercise. This workshop offers the opportunity to engage in physical activity combined with artistic exercises. No experience is required.Shoes: jazz or dance shoes preferred, sneakers ok.INSTRUCTORS: Jennifer Ellyson, MA, R-DMT, LPCA, received her B.S. in Dance and Psychology from SUNY Brockport in 2001. She then studied Dance/Movement Therapy and Counseling at Columbia College Chicago, where she earned her M.A. in 2009. In addition to her training in various genres of dance, she is skilled in creative movement, improvisation, composition, dance conditioning, and Laban Movement Analysis. A passionate dance educator for 28 years, Jennifer has taught in a variety of settings, including studios, schools, fitness centers, and social service organizations. She has also held teaching leadership roles at the university level. She has staged and directed many dance/music/theatrical performances throughout her career and enjoys creating community through the arts! Katrina Perkins combines over 25 years in education and her life-long love for dance to implement meaningful creative experiences for students. Her choreography credits include productions of Grease and West Side Story, as well as original choreography for show choirs, dance teams and schools, and college productions. She has taught dance to students aged 3 to 70 and appeared in several works as a performer in New York.

TCT Dance Workshops - ADULT BEGINNER TAP Open-level dance class for musical theatre lovers and creative movers. Ten sessions will focus on jazz and contemporary styles of dance within different musical themes and time periods. Each class will include a warm-up, dance-skills development, musical theatre combination, and improvisation exercise. This workshop offers the opportunity to engage in physical activity combined with artistic exercises. No experience is required.Shoes: jazz or dance shoes preferred, sneakers ok.INSTRUCTORS: Jennifer Ellyson, MA, R-DMT, LPCA, received her B.S. in Dance and Psychology from SUNY Brockport in 2001. She then studied Dance/Movement Therapy and Counseling at Columbia College Chicago, where she earned her M.A. in 2009. In addition to her training in various genres of dance, she is skilled in creative movement, improvisation, composition, dance conditioning, and Laban Movement Analysis. A passionate dance educator for 28 years, Jennifer has taught in a variety of settings, including studios, schools, fitness centers, and social service organizations. She has also held teaching leadership roles at the university level. She has staged and directed many dance/music/theatrical performances throughout her career and enjoys creating community through the arts! Katrina Perkins combines over 25 years in education and her life-long love for dance to implement meaningful creative experiences for students. Her choreography credits include productions of Grease and West Side Story, as well as original choreography for show choirs, dance teams and schools, and college productions. She has taught dance to students aged 3 to 70 and appeared in several works as a performer in New York.

In addition to her training in various genres of dance, she is skilled in creative movement, improvisation, composition, dance conditioning, and Laban Movement Analysis. A passionate dance educator for 28 years, Jennifer has taught in a variety of settings, including studios, schools, fitness centers, and social service organizations. She has also held teaching leadership roles at the university level. She has staged and directed many dance/music/theatrical performances throughout her career and enjoys creating community through the arts! Katrina Perkins combines over 25 years in education and her life-long love for dance to implement meaningful creative experiences for students. Her choreography credits include productions of Grease and West Side Story, as well as original choreography for show choirs, dance teams and schools, and college productions. She has taught dance to students aged 3 to 70 and appeared in several works as a performer in New York.

TCT Dance Workshops - DANCE FOR MUSICAL THEATRE Open-level dance class for musical theatre lovers and creative movers. Ten sessions will focus on jazz and contemporary styles of dance within different musical themes and time periods. Each class will include a warm-up, dance-skills development, musical theatre combination, and improvisation exercise. This workshop offers the opportunity to engage in physical activity combined with artistic exercises. No experience is required.Shoes: jazz or dance shoes preferred, sneakers ok.INSTRUCTORS: Jennifer Ellyson, MA, R-DMT, LPCA, received her B.S. in Dance and Psychology from SUNY Brockport in 2001. She then studied Dance/Movement Therapy and Counseling at Columbia College Chicago, where she earned her M.A. in 2009. In addition to her training in various genres of dance, she is skilled in creative movement, improvisation, composition, dance conditioning, and Laban Movement Analysis. A passionate dance educator for 28 years, Jennifer has taught in a variety of settings, including studios, schools, fitness centers, and social service organizations. She has also held teaching leadership roles at the university level. She has staged and directed many dance/music/theatrical performances throughout her career and enjoys creating community through the arts! Katrina Perkins combines over 25 years in education and her life-long love for dance to implement meaningful creative experiences for students. Her choreography credits include productions of Grease and West Side Story, as well as original choreography for show choirs, dance teams and schools, and college productions. She has taught dance to students aged 3 to 70 and appeared in several works as a performer in New York.

Basketball League - 2nd-3rd Grade Boys Our basketball league is offered to Trumbull residents grades K-12. Under the supervision of volunteer coaches, players will participate in ONE GAME PER WEEK during the designated time slot for their age/grade. Grades 4-8 may have optional practices added at the coaches discretion depending on facility availability. Participants must register for the league that corresponds with the grade they are enrolled in during the 2025-2026 school year. Teams will be made by the Parks and Rec office and players will be given a Basketball League t-shirt or jersey (included in the registration fee). Team/coach requests will not be permitted. All information, including dates and times, are subject to change. We reserve the right to cancel any program if we don't meet the minimum number of participantsPlease note, the 10-12 grade league(s) may choose their own teams. However, a volunteer coach (ages 25+) MUST be present at every practice/game- the volunteer is responsible for submitting the roster and ensuring only those registered participate.
