TCT Acting & Voice Workshops

This workshop is aimed at Adult students of various levels and is designed to provide opportunities to create and collaborate in the areas of voice, theater, and dance/movement. Workshop sessions will include warm-ups, technique, and performance that will improve skill in all levels. Whether you’re an adult or new to the performing arts, or a theatre veteran, everyone can benefit from learning these valuable acting and voice skills! In the last session, the class finale will be a showcase featuring a few of the one-acts, big group performances, solos, and duets.

INSTRUCTORS: 
Dr. Shaun Rimkunas 
is a graduate DMA student from the University of Connecticut. His past teachers include Dr. Kim Dunnick, Professor Frank Campos, Dr. Aaron Witek, Professor Chris Coletti, and Dr. Louis Hanzlik. Shaun studied with four of the teachers above at Ithaca College, earning his Bachelor of Music and Master of Music. His love of the arts is evident in his acting, singing, and trumpet playing. Shaun has performed in local and national areas of the country to play a diverse collection of musical genres. In returning for the TYA 50th anniversary show, Shaun performed Greased Lightning with a large cast of alums from the show. Shaun completed his most recent performance with the Trumbull Community Theater troupe in Christmas Carol, where he played Fred. Shaun’s love of music has carried him into various ensembles and musical opportunities throughout his career, and he plans to continue exploring multiple avenues as a performer. 

Jennifer Ellyson, MA, R-DMT, LPCA  received her B.S. in Dance and Psychology from SUNY Brockport in 2001.  She then studied Dance/Movement Therapy and Counseling at Columbia College Chicago where she earned her M.A. in 2009.  In addition to her training in various genres of dance, she is skilled in creative movement, improvisation, composition, dance conditioning and Laban Movement Analysis.  A passionate dance educator for 28 years, Jennifer has taught in a variety of settings including studios, schools, fitness centers, and social service organizations.  She has also held teaching leadership roles at the university level. She has staged and directed many dance/music/theatrical performances throughout her career and enjoys creating community through the arts!
